[edit] Procedural questions

I wasn't sure if the comments i posted on the article face of the Educational Injustice page was the kind of thing we're after. I don't know if the statement "There is a presumption in favor of adding considered views" means that comments posted on the article half should be already polished, or just that additions/revisions ought to be by committee. [edit] A Guanlet?

Has anybody seen or heard about the controversy around the language of TC's mission? A while ago an article appeared in the City Journal - which is in my mind a neo-conservative publication - about Teacher's College and its mission of social justice: The Ed Schools' Latest--and Worst--Humbug.

President Furhman in response

There is also an article in The New York Sun and an editorial regarding this dispute.

I thought responding to these might be one means of articulating our thoughts about the place of social justice pedagogy in education, and whether or not that is an educational virtue or vice. Anyway, food for thought... Eric Strome 14:42, 12 October 2006 (EDT)
