Technology, culture, education
From Studyplace
This will start with a bibliography of anthropological work looking specifically at the relationship between the human production of technologies, the shaping of human interaction given established technologies, and then improvised new uses for these technologies possibly opening onto the production of further technologies.
Note that the bibliography below is extremely partial. The goal here is for you to expand it, both by adding authors and works, and by writing comments outlining what makes these works interesting for your project.
Among other things, this bibliography will have to be broken down into various areas of concerns (of course, in such a classification, there will be much overlap);
[edit] Technology and Social Structuring
(with such people as Marx, Wittfogel, and probably many of those who write about literacy and society)
[edit] Literacy, society, and cultural production
(as one of the special cases where one might investigate more systematically the relationships between technology and social structuring)
[edit] The production of new technologies
(including all work about the everyday work of scientists and engineers in their various settings)
[edit] The possible impacts of recent technological developments, particularly the spread of computer related and derived technology through the population
[edit] Technology and cultural production
[edit] Full bibliography (simple alphabetized list)
