Study Group Discussion, Glossary
Kate and I met tonight and worked our way through the text in an attempt to understand it. We spent time with the terms "philosophy of praxis" and "hegemony" as well as other key ideas (economism in relation materialism, Croce, Marx, etc.) I realized the glossary in the back of the book gives a good sense of some of the most sensitive terms. What do you think? How might we understand terms like Economism, Hegemony, Historical Bloc, Organic/Conjunctural, and Philosophy of Praxis? What do you think of Gramsci's ideas concerning these concepts? Feel free to post below and let us know what you think. Thanks to Kate for the intriguing questions and a great discussion earlier.
