In The Politics of Aesthetics, Ranciere discussions his ideas on "the distribution of the sensible," including the difference between what for him is "an 'aesthetics' at the core of politics that has nothing to do with Benjamin's discussion of the 'aestheticization of politics' specific to the 'age of the masses'" (p.13).
