Overview
This session will focus on instructional issues, including the use of technology for assisting all students, including native English speakers, English language learners, and students with disabilities, to achieve the State Learning Standards in English language arts and then subject(s) appropriate to the certificate sought. Emphasis will be placed on helping teachers navigate the diversity of accessible technology, as well as the exploration of technology-related teacher resources.

Activities
Please choose two of the following activities to work on. You will have approximately an 80 minutes to work on these project. People who choose to work on the same activity are encouraged to work together so that they can help and encourage each other. At the end of the activity you will be asked to share what you learned and created with the entire group, so please take notes and keep this in mind as you're working.
Class Blog
Create a blog for your class. How will you organize your posts? Are there any links that you want to offer to your class? What will you say in your profile? What features/widgets will you include (e.g. Google Calendar or Flickr photos)? Find examples of edublogs that you admire and add links to them in your blogroll.

Teacher Tools
Search the web for tools that can help you manage and run your classroom. You might want to look for:
- Lesson plan banks
- Grade books
- Class rosters
- Assessment tools
Add reviews of the sites you visit to the StudyPlace page, Classroom Teaching Tools.
Class Wiki
Think about a class project that you might like to do in the fall. Create the skeleton of a wiki that your class will be able to create collaboratively. How will you organize it? What content will you need to start it with?

Online Partnership
Search the web for potential partners for your class. Look for other classes, colleges, research centers, museums, etc. to collaborate.
Mobile Flickr Slideshow
Create an account on Flickr. Use your mobile phone to take a series of photos and upload them to Flickr. Go to the Flickr site and organize your photos into a slideshow.
Web Resources
Consider a topic or lesson that you would like to teach in the Fall. Search the Internet for appropriate material that can help you and your students explore the topic more deeply. Create a new StudyPlace page for your topic and add the links, along with a description of why you think they are good/appropriate for you learners.
