[edit] Background

Whether quantitative or qualitative, research concentrates on well-defined topics and it cascades forth in endless specialized publications. To achieve a better balance in the study of education, StudyPlace promotes general scholarship and criticism, seeking to renew traditions of informed, thoughtful generalization

Let us disclose the global cultural commons through reflective essays, sharing and critiquing new ideas and reflections about what educates. The constraints of printing make the revision of texts expensive and these constraints made it sensible to engage in peer review prior to publication. StudyPlace encourages participants to test whether writers can better realize their intentions when able to interact with readers in a digital forum. Towards this end, StudyPlace invites the inclusion of essays, long and short, with the understanding that these will be open for public peer review, which will be, we trust, civil and constructive, but all the same probing and provoking.
