Is anyone interested in revising the Educational injustice page as an experimental way of beginning work on a class article? Or has the idea of describing negations as a means of producing an account lost its appeal? Eric Strome 02:19, 15 December 2006 (EST) I am very interested in this. If I could only find my way around here it would help. I have just spent the last 1/2 hour looking for the Dewey history links as I very much enjoy reading this section. I could sit here every night if I could find it. -http://www.studyplace.org/wiki/index.php?title=Wiki-ed- as not to loose it again Anyway here is what I am thinking about doing for next semester. Outline-first we should review the histroy of education--- heavy reading for the first 3 weeks- We should be able to read through 10 links a week- -readings from the history of education for week one- Aristotle, Apperception, Assimilation, Association, Attention, Barnard Henry, concentration, correlation, culture and culture values, culture epochs, Week one and then week two the next ten readings If this is too much we could start to read through all of these over the break so that we are not over loaded when we get back. The other reading would be to read the entire Rawls book by the 5th week of class and so some reading over the break would give us the time we need.
I will get the CEP’s from a few schools in digital for if I can and email them to you. We should NOT post them online, as they are not ours to do with as we please. But we can use them for outline reasons- Collect 5 models CEP-(Comprehensive Education plans) Outline CEP, which John Dewey would do- -Develop Web outline for Dewey’s curriculum- -Over the course of the 15-week course develop the new CEP and web outline- -Read articles opposed to Dewey- -Continue to read inside the study place links to Dewey and other- -Find at least current education research papers, which support Dewey’s ideals 5 papers -Micky Chi-
-Place the Dewey CEP online for comments- -Re write final draft of CEP and publish clean well designed web site with graphics- What are your thoughts on this? Daniel P
I would add in stuff about social justice education. I've personally never read Pedagogy of the Oppressed but I hear it referenced all of the time.
